How to see Northern Lights ?

It's a hard-to-make decision for everyone, choosing a Northern Lights destination & tour?

We'll try to make it easier for you by explaining the basics of Northern Lights which will help you in making a decision.

Northern Lights are there all year 24 Hours a day and 365 days a year. The best time of the year to see the Northern Lights is from Autumn to Spring. The only thing you need to do is to be under Northern Lights.

Where to find the Northern Lights? Your Northern Lights destination must be under the Northern Lights. That's right, there are many Northern Lights destinations and all you need to do is pick a destination that is under Aurora Oval, Not next to the Aurora Oval. Google search or find YouTube videos or other platforms to see how the Aurora Oval works or how to know where the Aurora Oval is. Aurora Oval is a shape around the North Pole which itself is Northern Lights Oval because the other name for Northern Lights is Aurora, also known as Aurora Borealis.

If your destination is under Aurora Oval then you can see Northern Lights. It is as easy as that!

Make sure not to follow false Advertising Or Info.

1. Make sure that your Northern Lights Destination is Under the Aurora Oval.

2. Make sure your destination is not severely overcast, with rain, snow, cloudy, etc all the time! except for the seasonal change, because you need clear skies to see the Northern Lights.

3. Make sure your destination is not seasonal, As most of the Northern Lights destinations have seasonal limitations. In summer there are no Northern Lights in the Destinations under the Aurora Oval because of more than 20 hours of Sunlight.

4. Make sure the travel time from your accommodation to go and see Northern Lights is no more than 40 minutes - 1 Hour. The tour itself can last more than 4 hours however the travel time shouldn't be more than 1 Hour between your accommodation and the first stop where you can see the Northern Lights. As you may want to spend more time viewing the Northern Lights and enjoying the tour instead of sitting for hours in a vehicle traveling to the spot to see Northern Lights. The shorter travel time also brings along the opportunity to go out on multiple nights to see the beautiful Northern Lights.

5. Make sure to book as early as possible. All of the Northern Lights destinations have limited seats in their tours and limited accommodations, one or the other limitations. Northern Lights are visible during a specific time of the year as mentioned in step 3 and the chances are most of the destinations get sold out easily. It is a common practice for Northern Lights travelers to complete their bookings 4 to 6 months in advance. Just for the info, booking 6 months in advance for your Northern Lights travel, is not way too early, in fact, it is an appropriate time frame that allows you to find tours & packages during your specific travel date which also allows you to find cheap air tickets.

Last but not least is to keep in consideration the cost for Northern Lights tour & complete package. In some cases, travelers have shelled out over two thousand Canadian dollars per person. The Northern Lights are visible from everywhere under the Aurora Oval and does not have to be an expensive most trip when it can be as cost-effective as any other travel in the world. Just for an Idea cost of the Northern Lights tours including the Hotel Accommodation, a couple of nights Northern Lights Tours & a few day tours should start from around $850 + Plus a flight ticket and the price would normally go up depending on the additional inclusions you would want to add in your tour package such as meals, extra daytime activities, etc), Plus the flight ticket.

The above-mentioned suggested cost is in Canadian Dollars from the year 2022.

Do your research before traveling, compare multiple Northern Lights destinations, and go through all of the above 5 steps in choosing your destination for viewing the Northern Lights.
